Medical Illustrator
This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.
The Medical Illustrator will produce illustrations, animations, and graphic designs for publication in scientific journals. They will also assist and collaborate with subject matter experts and other visual information specialists to translate broad scientific concepts into details required to design, produce, reproduce, and/or display original visual products or materials.

Medical Illustrator Responsibilities Include
Produce illustrations, animations, and graphic designs for publication in scientific journals.
Assist and collaborate with subject matter experts and other visual information specialists to translate broad scientific concepts into details required to design, produce, reproduce, and/or display original visual products or materials.
Provide conceptualizing, storyboarding, designing, developing, producing, and editing video and 3D animation to document scientific results.
Perform a wide range of photography, including macrophotography, architectural photography, portraits and group photos, and photos of animal necropsies and procedures to support scientific experiments and administrative purposes.
Perform data analysis and program support using software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Master Collection (specifically Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe Illustrator), Maxon Cinema 4D, and/or similar animation software.
Provide support to the DIR/RTB using a range of biomedical communication, including but not limited to:
2D and 3D animation for journal figure preparation
Scientific poster design
PowerPoint presentations
Image colorizing and enhancing
Video editing and production
Display graphics
Graphic design for brochures, certificates, publications, and other visual graphics
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Medical Illustrator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested
Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment with co-workers.
Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
Must be a US Citizen.
Proficiency in illustration and graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and similar programs.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into visually engaging and accurate illustrations.
Skill in creating 2D and 3D animations to visually communicate scientific information.
Proficiency in photography techniques, including macrophotography and specialized medical photography.
Understanding of color theory and the ability to effectively use color in illustrations.
Knowledge of layout and composition principles for designing scientific posters, journal figures, and other visual materials.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating anatomically correct illustrations.
Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and other professionals to understand and represent scientific concepts accurately.
Effective communication skills to understand client requirements and provide appropriate visual solutions.
Time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Biomedical Illustrator, Medical Visualizer, or Medical Graphic Designer.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
